Miljan Ždrale

Regional Director for Central Europe, EBRD

Miljan Zdrale is the Regional Director for Central Europe, including Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia, based in Zagreb.

Miljan joined EBRD in 2002 on the International Analyst programme in London where he worked on Municipal/Transport Infrastructure and Property&Tourism projects. He completed the programme in 2006 when he moved to Agribusiness team based in London as a part of the Corporate Group, Banking.

In 2014, Miljan was promoted to Regional Head of Food & Agribusiness team and assigned to Belgrade regional office to run investments in the consumer and retail sector in CSEE. In his current role of Regional Head of Food & Agribusiness, Miljan has led the sector operations in 11 countries of CSEE and created highly recognisable business franchise in the region. He was responsible for business and policy delivery reflected in a number of projects amounting to about EUR 200-300 million in annual business investment per annum and managing active sector portfolio in excess of EUR 2bln.

Miljan has strong multi-sector execution and transactional experience, in particular with equity and mergers & acquisitions financing. He has been a non-executive director in several local, international and private-equity backed companies. Through numerous equity and debt projects, he created strong relationships with many leading regional and international companies and private equity funds.

Miljan holds BSc/MSc in Finance, attended Executive Education for Private Equity at Saad Business School in Oxford and Agribusiness Seminar at Harvard Business School. He speaks Serbian/ Croatian, English and Russian.
